Hello, I'm Clifton Massey. I am trying to find out why your company repossessed my car. Despite experiencing a harrowing hostage situation on April 2nd, where I was tied up and threatened, I managed to keep up with my car payments. However, with two of the culprits now out on bail and one back in prison, I have been moving to stay safe. Unfortunately, your actions have made my situation more challenging. I'm sharing this to make you aware of the difficulty I'm facing due to my car being repossessed unexpectedly. I've informed your Customer Service Center about my circumstances, which are exacerbated by the PTSD resulting from the ordeal. I hope this message sheds light on the challenges I'm dealing with, especially given the traumatic events I've survived. Thank you.

I have been trying to get back the blue [redacted] Toyota Scion that Angel Marie Lawson owes me money for, for over a year. She has no plans of paying off the $[redacted]+ debt. The car can be found parked either at her home at [redacted] W Reynosa Lane, Big Stone Gap, VA [redacted], or at her workplace, the Huddle House on [redacted] Jackson Road SW, Wise, VA [redacted]. It is a bright blue car with a large white 'Scion' sticker across the front windshield and 17' chrome rims. This situation is causing a lot of trouble, and I am seeking assistance to resolve it promptly. Thank you.

Account: [redacted] Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to address the issues regarding my account. I request the bill of sales, which has not been provided to me. I voluntarily surrendered my car, which was damaged during the process, and I have video evidence of the incident. My credit report initially showed a zero balance, but it was later changed without explanation. Kindly zero my balance and provide the bill of sales as requested. If unable to do so, please remove the balance altogether. If my account is not resolved promptly, I will pursue legal action. The lack of transparency and mishandling of my situation is unacceptable. Sincerely, Torrance Harris

My car was repossessed three weeks ago. I sent payment via Western Union the following Monday. I informed Credit Acceptance that I would redeem my car three days after payment. I made sure both locations were aware of my plans. However, MJ Towing removed the car to an unknown location. When I went to Mannheim to reclaim my car, it was not ready for pickup. The newly made key did not start the car, and upon investigation, a missing link under the car was discovered by a mechanic at Mannheim. My son witnessed all of this, and the car was not placed in the expected location for pickup. I was informed that moving the car without a functional steering key could have caused the issue with the new key not working.

I had my car repossessed three weeks ago, and I paid to have it restored four days later. When I went to pick up my redeemed car, I requested that it remain at the location it was repossessed from, but they moved it far away. The staff then went to lunch, leaving me without my original key. I had to wait until they figured it out, causing a delay in getting my car back. I returned to MJ Towing on December 8th, and despite trying the ignition with my original key, the problem persisted. If MJ Towing does not fix the issue, I will not make further payments and will contact the BBB with a complaint. Cecilia B. from Philadelphia, PA.

I am uncertain if I have contacted the correct company, but I have recently bought a vehicle from a private seller. The title indicates the existence of a previous lien holder, although the seller claims it was resolved years ago. I am trying to obtain a lien satisfaction letter. I do not possess an account number or any specific details. Can you please advise me on the information required for you to check whether this vehicle was financed through your institution and if the lien has indeed been cleared? Thank you for your assistance. Regards, W.K.

I received a [redacted]-C from Credit Acceptance stating a loan of $5,[redacted].39 was forgiven in [redacted], but I never took out such a loan. I am concerned about potential identity theft and need proof of a contract to dispute this with the IRS. Please retract the information sent to the IRS so I can recover the funds that were wrongly garnished. Best regards, K. Brooks

I had a payment arrangement scheduled for yesterday to be withdrawn directly from my account as an automatic payment. However, the payment was not debited as planned. I am unsure why this occurred as I had set up the automatic payment. The funds are still in my account, and I need to understand what went wrong.

Regarding Settlement Request for Account [redacted]: I acknowledge the request for $4,[redacted].40 to settle account [redacted]8 and thank you for your understanding. I want to address my son Vladimir's outstanding student loan debts of approximately $25,[redacted]. Due to his disabilities, individuals who purchased a car coerced him into cosigning for two vehicles, putting him in a difficult situation. This has also affected me personally, as they misused Vladimir's credit card (American Express) issued in my name. I am facing significant challenges in repaying this debt. The individuals responsible for this should be held accountable through legal actions to prevent such exploitation in the future. It is crucial to consider Vladimir's mental condition, which was evident during our interaction with the Merrillville Police Department. Fortunately, other companies have recognized his situation and withdrew their demands for payment. If required, I can provide evidence of his mental health condition to support our case further. Sincerely, Roger Thomas I encountered an issue with my printer, and that's why I couldn't respond via mail.

I recently bought a [redacted] Chevy Sonic from a dealership connected to Credit Acceptance, and I am very disappointed with the experience. The salesman misrepresented many details, particularly regarding the additional insurance he convinced me to purchase. After a car accident that left my Buick Lesabre totaled, I needed a reliable vehicle to keep my job. Unfortunately, the Chevy Sonic he sold me has a faulty electrical system that has caused several issues. Despite minimal driving due to COVID and job loss, the check engine light illuminated with numerous electrical codes. The dealership never disclosed that the car was previously a rental, nor did they provide the requested paperwork and manual. They have been unhelpful and untruthful, claiming I missed appointments for repairs. I cannot afford extensive repairs for a vehicle I cannot rely on. It is clear that I was deceived by the salesman, a hard lesson learned. I also need Credit Acceptance to understand that as a person on disability, my income is protected from garnishment. Thank you.

I have reached out to Credit Acceptance multiple times without a response regarding my concerns. I have informed them about identity theft affecting my ability to make an immediate payment, which I sent earlier this week. Despite this, I keep receiving voicemails prompting me to pay. I am certain the payment was sent but may not have been processed yet. Due to security concerns from phone tapping and hacking, I am hesitant to provide payment details online or over the phone. My credit score is in the mid-700s, with minimal loan applications and any negative marks likely due to fraud. I find the 14% interest rate unfair, especially considering I was quoted a lower payment amount during the car purchase. I urge Credit Acceptance to review my case and consider lowering the interest rate. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to retrieve my car, but there was a misunderstanding with the person who was supposed to contact me. Initially, I was told I could get my car back by paying $[redacted], so I paid $[redacted]. When I followed up, I was informed that this was incorrect and now it would cost $3,[redacted]. This is beyond my current financial means, but my job relies on having the car. I have already paid $9,[redacted] on the car and have been struggling financially, especially due to COVID and my partner losing their job. I am doing my best to keep up with payments and maintain the vehicle. Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

The dealership has had my car three times under my 30-day warranty, and it's still not safe to drive. I need to return it and get approval for a different dealership. The OnStar roadside assistance representative advised against keeping the car due to safety concerns. I have a disabled child and recently lost my mother, using her money to purchase a reliable vehicle, which this is not. Despite three employees agreeing I can return it within the warranty period, I've been getting the runaround for days, including being put on hold for long periods. I suspect they may have known about issues with the car, considering it recently failed Maryland emissions testing due to their previous work. I plan to contact the MVA for an investigation. Please help us, a family in need, by addressing this promptly. Respectfully, L. Myers

On 12/3/[redacted], I called to arrange payments and spoke with Hissan. Despite my request to set up payment arrangements for Wednesday, Hissan responded insensitively asking if I had no money that day. The tone of the conversation caused me to reconsider my attitude towards the company. Initially speaking to a gentleman, Hissan's sudden change in attitude and higher pitch was uncalled for. This negative encounter made me decide not to engage with him in the future. Subsequently, I had to contact other representatives for assistance.

Hello, a few weeks ago, my truck was impounded due to being unregistered. After contacting your team, I was informed that it would be picked up for me to retrieve. However, after waiting for weeks and following up, I was informed that this was not the case. Now, the impound fees have escalated, making it challenging for me to afford to release my truck. This situation is not only affecting my ability to reclaim my vehicle but is also jeopardizing my job since I cannot obtain another car. I am reaching out to explore the possibility of establishing a payment plan or finding an alternative solution to resolve this issue and regain access to a vehicle. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

My car was affected by the [redacted] Kia Optima engine lockup recall. Kia USA approved the recall, assigned case number [redacted]6, and ordered a new engine from Korea two weeks after verifying the VIN number. I have been without my vehicle for over 90 days without a loaner and cannot afford to rent a car. This situation has impacted my ability to work my part-time job that supplements my SSA retirement income. Consequently, my account is past due, and I am looking to bring it up to date.

I have been requesting payment arrangements frequently, but I want to emphasize the urgent situation my children and I are in due to abuse from multiple therapists and domestic violence services. Keeping our car is crucial for our safety and potential escape to a safer location like Lorain County or Medina County from Cleveland. While I am aware of my outstanding balance, I am committed to resolving it by May 25, [redacted].

I used to own a [redacted] Jeep Liberty Sport financed by your Credit Acceptance Corporation through Liberty Motors. Unfortunately, the airbag deployed at a low speed as I tried to avoid hitting a person and their dog. Despite having gap coverage, my credit report still shows a balance of nearly $2,[redacted] from that incident, which I think happened in [redacted]. Recently, my car was totaled in another accident, and Cure Auto Insurance is covering almost $13,[redacted], with Silverrock paying the remaining $7,[redacted]. The issue is that Credit Acceptance Corp.'s entry on my credit report is hindering my ability to get a new car without a down payment of $2,[redacted] to $3,[redacted]. I have just started a job as a Toll Collector, which requires a valid driver's license and a car. If I can't resolve this credit report matter, I risk losing the job. Thank you for any assistance. - Linda Marie C.

I filed a complaint with the Massachusetts attorney general's office regarding the excessive credit charges. I have seen that your company is facing a lawsuit. I intend to return the car, which is currently parked in a LAZ parking lot on Traveler Street in Boston, Massachusetts. For car retrieval, please cover the parking fee indicated on the ticket inside the car on the dashboard. The car is registered to Joseph V. at [redacted] Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA [redacted]. I purchased the vehicle from Route [redacted] Motors, who misled me about the credit charges. Unfortunately, the car is unaffordable due to the exorbitant credit fees.

I purchased a car but feel misled by the dealer regarding the credit charges and warranty requirement. I was promised a monthly payment of $[redacted], but the actual costs were not transparent, and I can't afford it on my limited income. I want to voluntarily surrender the car due to financial constraints. I paid $[redacted] for parking and regret this purchase. I apologize for any confusion and would appreciate guidance on how to return the vehicle. Thank you for your help.
